Roosevelt Island Pickleball on East Main Street: the island's public courts

Roosevelt Island Pickleball Courts are located at 895 East Main Street, Roosevelt Island, NY 10044. The island has a single set of dedicated pickleball courts serving its residential community of ~14,000 residents plus visitors arriving via the Tramway, F train, or NYC Ferry.

The Roosevelt Island context

Roosevelt Island has limited recreation infrastructure relative to Manhattan and Queens. The dedicated pickleball courts are part of the island's small park system, with access typically open to anyone during park hours.

Court conditions

Roosevelt Island's exposed riverside location produces wind conditions that affect play. Cooler temperatures and breezes off the East River make the courts more comfortable than equivalent inland courts during summer afternoons.

Visiting from off-island

Visitors arrive via the Roosevelt Island Tramway from East 60th Street and Second Avenue, the F train to the Roosevelt Island stop, or NYC Ferry to the Roosevelt Island stop. The courts are a 5-10 minute walk from any of these transit options.

Practical notes

Bring your own nets, balls, and paddles. No permit system; access is first-come during park hours.
